Class 2C - Year 3 Curriculum Back to curriculum
Our topic this half term is 'Where is Africa and what is it like there?' In particular, we are looking at South Africa. |
|
In Key Stage Two we are looking at the topic 'Life in Britain after World War 2.' In particular we are studying fashion, food, technology and music in the 1950's and the 1980's. We looked at the work of Andy Warhol and interpreted it in our own unique way. |

In November, Years 3 and 4 went on an educational trip to Burwardsley in Cheshire. The weather was very cold but we still had lots of fun! On the first day, we explored around the ruins at Beeston Castle and went on a 2 mile walk through the woods. On the second day, we visited St John's Church and sketched the font, organ, alter and stained glass windows. We also did problem solving activities with John the warden. We all enjoyed the final day the most as we visted the candle factory. We made our very own candles and candle holders. As we made them we said the following rhyme: 'In the wax, out the wax. Drip, drip, drip!' |

We have continued to study German this half term with Mrs Foerster. We can say colours, parts of the body and months of the year in German. We can also have short conversations with each other. This half term, we have been learning how to describe the size and colour of particular animals. |
| Our role play area this half term is a fashion house. We have looked at a different decade each week. We were particularly interested in 1950's and 1980's fashion. We realised that clothes worn in the 1980's is very similar to current fashion. Which decade do you think was the most fashionable? |
|
| We have had great fun this term working with Mr McGreel from 'Healthy Heroes'. We work in the class on science / maths based activities all about being healthy and then do physical activities in the hall - it really gets our heart rates going! | |
